With our supply channel made from hanit recycled plastic, we have developed a high-quality solution for reliable routing of cables and lines which guarantees long-term performance not only indoors but especially in outdoor areas. Our hanit material is extremely robust, frost resistant and UV resistant, and withstands many environmental influences. Laying underground is therefore also possible without problems in civil engineering projects. Our cable duct can also withstand a considerable amount of mechanical stress, thus guaranteeing long-term stability without deformation. The technical portfolio is rounded off by outstanding tensile strength.
In addition to the high product quality, supply channels made from hanit recycled plastic have another decisive advantage, i.e. their light weight. They are just one third of the weight of comparable products made from concrete. This not only makes it possible to save a considerable amount of money with regard to transport, but also during installation, which can easily be carried out manually without the need for heavy lifting equipment. Laying in terrain that is difficult to access or cannot be driven on is made possible by using hanit products. The integrated plug-in system also enables assembly and disassembly, and therefore re-use in different phases of construction possible. The top of the supply channel can be opened along its entire length, for easy insertion and removal of prefabricated cables and lines. This removes the need for tedious cable threading, and maintenance and monitoring of the lines is simplified.

REFERENCE PROJECT CABLE DUCTS
Metro lines in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital and biggest financial hub, lies on a desert plateau in the middle of the country. The booming economy of Riyadh has resulted in rapid growth of the city, and the current population of 6.5 million is expected to increase to 8.3 million by 2030. This is why the world’s biggest public local transport project has been implemented. Among other things, it includes six Metro lines extending over a total distance of 176 kilometres. Two of the lines will be constructed by Siemens Mobility as part of a consortium and equipped with Metro trains, electrification, and signal and communication technology for driverless operation.
Our hanit recycled plastic was used on this large and important project, since the demanding climatic conditions in the desert required special material for the cable channel system which is resistant to UV and remains permanently stable in direct sunlight and under extreme temperature fluctuations. The light weight of hanit was also an important decision-making criterion, since this made it possible for the cable channels to be imported in large quantities within a very short time with comparatively low transport costs. In total, we supplied 86,000 metres of cable channel made from hanit in 550 sea containers. Due to the light weight, on-site processing took place quickly and easily. The expansion of plastic with the high temperature fluctuations in the desert was a challenge during the design of the project. However, we used our expertise to come up with an appropriate solution. Following a four-year construction period, the cable channel system for the Metro lines was completed in 2019, and thus a major project was completed to the complete satisfaction of our customer.
